Terms, conditions & safety policy
This page is maintained by the List It Naija team and explains how the marketplace works, what we expect from sellers and buyers, and how to trade safely. Last reviewed: August 2026.
1. What List It Naija is
List It Naija is a listing platform. Sellers publish farm produce, fashion items, packaged food and automobile spare parts, and buyers contact them directly by phone, WhatsApp or an inquiry message. We do not hold funds, process payments between buyers and sellers, ship goods, or act as an agent for either side of a transaction.
Every sale is a private agreement between the buyer and the seller. Prices, delivery, returns and refunds are agreed between the two parties.
2. Seller subscription
Publishing listings costs ₦2,000 per month. A seller must complete business setup and have a confirmed payment before their listings can go live. Payment receipt is uploaded or details provided during the registration process and activated after we confirm the transfer.
Subscription fees cover access to the platform only. They are not a commission on sales, and they are not refundable. Listings stop being visible when a subscription lapses.
3. What sellers must do
List only goods you actually own or can supply.
Use your own photographs and describe condition, quantity and pricing honestly.
Keep contact details current and answer inquiries promptly.
Only mark a product “export ready” if it is genuinely packaged, labelled and documented for shipping outside Nigeria.
Comply with Nigerian laws, including any licensing required for food, agricultural or automotive goods.
4. What may not be listed
Counterfeit, stolen or smuggled goods.
Weapons, ammunition, illegal drugs or controlled substances.
Live animals sold outside recognized livestock trading rules.
Expired, unsafe or unlabeled food products.
Any item whose sale is restricted or prohibited by Nigerian law.
Listings that break these rules are removed, and repeat breaches end the seller account.
5. Verification badges and stars
A Verified badge means the seller submitted business details and supporting documents and our team reviewed them after the automated verification. It confirms that an authentic means of identification was provided and face test was successful— it is not a guarantee of product quality, delivery, or the outcome of any specific transaction, and it is not an independent certification.
Trust stars are earned from buyer confirmations: one star for every three buyers who confirm a satisfactory transaction. Only signed-in buyers can review, and only once per listing. Attempting to inflate stars with fake accounts removes all stars and the verified badge.
The Export ready badge is set by the seller. Always ask for the specific documentation you need before shipping internationally.
6. Safety policy for buyers
Inspect goods, or arrange a trusted inspection, before paying in full.
Prefer part payment on delivery for large or perishable orders.
Pay into a business account whose name matches the seller’s business name or bears at least one of the names used as the business name (for unregistered businesses)— never into an unrelated personal account ( ensure at one name matches the name on the account you’re paying into)
Always return to this site to check the current listing status of a seller before any fresh transaction.
Meet in public, well-populated places when collecting in person. Except if the Buyer has gone through the verification process
Keep the conversation and receipts. Screenshots help us investigate disputes.
Treat prices far below market rate, pressure to pay immediately, and refusal to show the goods as warning signs.
7. Safety policy for sellers
Confirm payment has cleared in your account before releasing goods — not just an alert or a screenshot.
Be cautious of overpayment and “refund the balance” requests; they are a common scam.
Never share bank passwords, card details, OTPs or your account login with anyone, including anyone claiming to be from List It Naija.
8. Reporting problems
Report suspicious listings, fraud or abuse to greathavenng@gmail.com with the listing link and any evidence. We can suspend accounts and remove listings, but we cannot recover money sent directly to a seller — report financial crime to your bank and to the Nigeria Police Force or EFCC.
9. Your data
We collect the account, business and listing information you provide so buyers can reach you and so we can review verification and payment requests. Verification documents and payment references are visible only to you and to List It Naija administrators. Contact details you publish on a listing are public by design.
Users’ data will be made available to law enforcement and relevant government agencies on request in cases of complaint, fraud report or legal disputes.
To request deletion of your account and data, email the address above from your registered email.
10. Limitation of liability
List It Naija provides the platform “as is”. We are not liable for losses arising from transactions between users, the quality or legality of listed goods, or a seller’s failure to deliver. Using the platform means you accept these terms; we may update them and will reflect changes on this page.
